This painting is about incorporating things into your life that activate joy in your self and in others. Maybe it’s laughing more. Maybe it’s calling up a friend when it’s been awhile. A friend of mine dropped in whom I hadn’t seen in a long time. I remember people doing this when I was a kid and it was common. We welcomed those guests with open arms and a pot of tea and my Mom would always have some sort of fresh baking on hand. I didn’t have any of those things prepared but my husband had just trimmed my aloe plant so I gave her a part of my plant. We picked up right where we left off from the last time we saw each other and she really sparked hope and joy into my heart as she spoke some really beautiful truths to me about who I was. She re-activated joy into my life at the perfect time. What activates your joy?
